World-renowned Afro-fusion artist Damini Ogulu, known as Burna Boy, recently discussed Nigeria and its existence.

In a chat with Tidal, the African Giant explained how the country’s rich cultural diversity has hindered its development.

He said that Nigeria was just a business opportunity for the British. He mentioned that the region now called Nigeria was originally known as the Niger Area before the Royal Niger Company took control of it.

After taking over, the Royal Niger Company chose to combine the North and South instead of managing them separately, leading to the creation of Nigeria.

The Afro-fusion star pointed out that when the merger took place, the Niger Company and the British who sold Nigeria ignored the people living in the area.
