Popular Nigerian singer Iyanya has sparked reactions online following the way he claps back at a Wizkid fan who berated his music career of over 15 years.
Following the trending beef between Wizkid and Davido, an X user identified as Basito throws his weight behind Wizkid and by extension disclosed why people hate the “Essence” crooner.
According to Basito, Wizkid only crime is surpassing the target set for him and ended being the most successful Nigerian artiste.
Basito wrote; “Wizkid’s only crime is surpassing the benchmark set for him and becoming the benchmark himself.”
Backing up the tweet, another X user uses Drake to reference what is happening to Wizkid as he asserts that no one ever believed Drake would be at the top level he is today.
The fan utters that many expected Wizkid to end up singer Iyanya and music producer Samklef.
@Xperience_Snr wrote; “Same reason why Drake gets alot of hate. The whole entertainment industry didn’t expect that little tiny white boy to get that far. Wizkid was supposed to end up like Samklef and Iyanya.”
