Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were seen laughing with "powerful" people at a glitzy film premiere, with one expert encouraging them to "do this more often".

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex enjoyed a night out at the Bob Marley: One Love film premiere in Kingston, Jamaica, on Tuesday. They happily posed for pictures on the red carpet and cosied up to Brian Robbins, the president and CEO of Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon, and his wife Tracy James.

The outing comes as Meghan and Harry's exclusive Netflix deal is almost over and after they were brutally axed from Spotify. PR expert Ryan McCormick said connecting with top Hollywood bosses like Brian could be good for the Sussexes.

Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, he said: "If they attended the premiere just to have facetime with Brian Robbins, I would consider that a smart move. It's good for their image to be seen in the company of other high profile and successful people.

"As CEO of Paramount, Robbins is powerful and this photo op signals that the Duke & Duchess are still on the A-list. I would advise Harry and Meghan to do this more often."

A the premiere, Meghan and Harry also met with Jamaican Prime Minister Andrew Holness and his wife Juliet Holness. The two couples were seen smiling widely as they posed for the cameras.

The meeting seemed to be a swipe at the Royal Family. When Andrew met with the Prince and Princess of Wales in 2022, he announced his country would be "moving on" from the British monarchy.

In a televised statement, he told the Wales': "There are issues here which are, as you would know, unresolved, but your presence gives an opportunity for those issues to be placed in context, put front and centre and to be addressed in as best [a way] as we can. But Jamaica is a country that is very proud of our history, very proud of what we have achieved.

"And we're moving on and we intend to attain in short order our development goals and fulfil our true ambitions and destiny as an independent, developed, prosperous country.". Jamaica's process to cut ties with the monarchy is said to be under way.

It's not the first time Meghan and Harry have been seen cosying up to A-list stars. Back in 2020, Harry was filmed pushing for Meghan to be considered for a job with Disney.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex met Disney CEO Bob Iger on the red carpet for London's premiere of The Lion King. As Meghan hugged Beyonce, Harry was seen chatting with Bob and seemed to be touting his wife's interest in voiceover work.

"Ah, I did not know that," Bob said. Harry replied: "You seem surprised. She’s really interested." Bob seemed very eager and said: "We'd love to try. That’s a great idea." Three months later, Meghan recorded a voiceover for the Disney film Elephant.
