Pro wrestling fans of a certain age know well that when things were going bad for good guys in the old WWE — it was the WWF then — Hulk Hogan always seemed to make the save.
He would make the run-in, the bad guys would go down, and all the little Hulkamaniacs would go wild.
Well, the Hulkster apparently made a real-life run-in Sunday, Hulking-Up and helping a teen girl to safety after she was involved in a car crash in Clearwater, Florida, that led to her vehicle flipping onto its roof.
Photos provided to TMZ from the scene show the Hulkster wearing an nWo shirt at the site, which would have put him in Hollywood Hogan mode and Hollywood certainly was a great heel, but whatever the case the details being reported suggest the red and yellow mentality was strong with him on this night. For non-wrestling fans, all of that just reiterates the fact that he was a good guy in this situation.
Hogan was reportedly accompanied by his wife, Sky Daily, and a friend who was identified only as “Jake.” Jake was also reported to be an ex-Marine.
The Hulkster has had multiple back surgeries, so he does not move like he used to, and Jake is actually being credited with diving in the car, with help from Hogan, popping the air bag and pulling out a 17-year-old female drive who was described as being “completely rattled by the whole thing.” Hogan reportedly helped get the seatbelt off the girl.
Good news is there are no reports of serious injury from the scary scene.
