Meghan Markle is said to be "hyper-concerned" about money and worries she and Prince Harry could "lose everything", which comes amid a fresh blow to the Sussexes' production company.
The Duchess of Sussex, who resides in an £11.4million mansion in Montecito, California, has suffered a number of blows to her career. This follows on from the couple's $25million (£19million) Spotify deal coming to an abrupt and sudden end last year after the couple produced just a few episodes of one standalone podcast.
And now, amid reports that the manager of Archewell Productions has quit the company in exchange for a shiny new job, it has been claimed that the couple has "blown through so much money" and Meghan is "concerned".
An insider told Closer Magazine: "Meghan is hyper-concerned about money, as well she should be, because they are spending it hand over fist and not bringing in what they'd expected. What makes it kind of daunting this time around through that they've blown through so much money so quickly and aren't in anything like the strong position they once were. Meghan's taking charge, but it could be too little too late."
Speaking to the magazine, a source added that the couple is facing "crunch time" as they've got one year left to "produce and impress Netflix enough to keep them on". The source went on to say that the couple is "very nervous it won't happen".
The couple is also said to be "scrambling" to pitch content that will get the green light, and also drum up other income streams "because their expenses are out of control".
But the couple might not have to worry about Netflix and their contract coming to an end in 2025 if speculation about Paramount Pictures is correct. Just last week the Sussexes made a rare public appearance when they attended the premiere of Bob Marley: One Love in Kingston, Jamaica following an invitation from the CEO of Paramount Pictures.
Brian Robbins, the CEO of the company, is reportedly friends with the Sussexes. Not only this, but he owns a home in Montecito, which is in the same area where Harry and Meghan reside.
