Meghan Markle facing 'desperate times' with Prince Harry as they're 'forced to cut spending that's out of control'

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are said to be facing "desperate times" as their "spending is out of control" following their numerous and expensive legal battles.

Speaking to Closer Magazine, an insider revealed: "Whether Harry was right or wrong, his latest legal blow has cost them an absolute fortune, not only the pay-out they have been forced to make, but the endless legal bills.

"Meghan is hyper-concerned about money, as well she should be, because they are spending it hand over fist and not bringing in what they'd expected."

The source went on: "What makes it kind of daunting this time around though is that they have blown through so much money so quickly and aren't in anything like the strong position they once were. Meghan's taking charge, but it could be too little too late."

Referring to how the couple's previous financial stability has largely reliant on them telling stories from their lives and challenges within the Royal Family, the insider added: "This is the problem; the only thing people have clamoured to pay them for in the past is the dirt they can dish on Harry's family - and that well has run dry.

"They're trying to cut back and have put things like their plans to get a place in LA on hold until they can bring in more money. It's definitely a desperate time for them and they know they can't go back to King Charles for money."

And, with the countdown officially on before the couple's deal with Netflix is reviewed, the insider explained: "It's crunch time now, they've got one year left to produce more content and impress Netflix enough to keep them on - and they're very nervous it won't happen.

"They're not only scrambling to pitch content that will get the green light, they also have to drum up other possible income streams because their expenses are out of control."

With Harry's September release of Heart Of Invictus failing to make the top 10, and Meghan's animation Pearl being dropped in 2022, the viewing figures of their December 2022 documentary, Harry & Meghan, only confirmed that their popularity Stateside goes hand in hand with their bitter rift with the Royal Family and exposing secrets of Palace life.

This news of the couple's alleged struggles come after they were dealt their latest blow recently when it emerged that the manager of Archewell Productions has left his role.

Bennett Levine, who was promoted to manager of Archewell in 2022 and worked on the Sussexes' Netflix series Harry & Meghan, left the company this month, as per MailOnline. A source revealed to the paper: "It's a blow to the company. There's no doubt about that," of Levine's departure.

Levine, who was a production manager who likely took care of the business and finances at Archewell, confirmed his new job on social media with a note that reads: "I'm happy to share that I'm starting a new position at Cinetic Media."

This comes amid speculation that the Sussexes could jump ship from Netflix when their contract ends in 2025, and instead team up with Paramount Pictures.

Just last week the Sussexes made a rare public appearance when they attended the premiere of Bob Marley: One Love in Kingston, Jamaica following an invitation from the CEO of Paramount Pictures.

The Paramount CEO, Brian Robbins, is thought to be friends with the couple, especially as they live close to one another in Montecito.
