A teenage boy has died after being stabbed shortly before New Year celebrations kicked off in London.
The Met raced to Primrose Hill in Camden at 11.40pm on Sunday night but the boy, believed to be aged 16, was pronounced dead at the scene.
He died shortly before midnight despite the best efforts of paramedics and air ambulance staff.
A man has been arrested and taken into custody, the force said.
There’s a cordon in place and heavy police presence as officers continue to investigate the stabbing.
Empty cans and bottles were left strewn in the grass following the night’s new year celebrations.
Primrose Hill is a popular spot for people watching the fireworks on New Year’s Eve, and police said it was busy at the time of the incident. They’re asking anyone with information to come forward.
