Victor Osimhen's new contract with Napoli will include a buyout clause.

The Nigeria striker's new deal will make him the highest paid player in Serie A.

Yesterday, there was a face-to-face meeting between Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis and his agent Roberto Calenda. An agreement to 30 June 2026 is now much closer.

The parties have in fact reached a general agreement and today there could already be a new discussion to start putting everything in black and white.

Osimhen, who currently earns €4.5m-a-year should become the highest paid footballer in the league with a salary of €10m net.

La Gazzetta dello Sport also reports there will be a buyout clause of €130m in the new deal.
