Meghan Markle has been going above and beyond in an effort to make her way to "Hollywood's very top table."
The former Suits actress has been working with her new team to brainstorm ways to make new A-List friends in her new home in Montecito California. The ploy is part of her and Prince Harry's plan to make a comeback in Hollywood, following reports of their string of upcoming career paths, including the return of her blog The Tig and Harry's new Netflix documentary.
After attending Yellowstone actor Kevin Costner's fundraiser last month, Meghan and Harry were said to be all smiles as they rubbed shoulders with their pals Ellen Degeneres and Orpah Winfrey, who introduced them to Kevin. Sources have claimed that the event was the "first step in their total image overhaul."
"Meghan had been trying herself up in knots for months trying to figure out a comeback strategy and eventually she agreed with her new team that their only chance of turning things around is to be proactive and sociable," the source revealed. "She called in every favour she could think of, as well as using the influence of her new high-powered advisors.
"Meghan's convinced they've turned the corner and are slowly but surely gaining access to Hollywood' very top table. Getting the seal of approval from Kevin after an introduction from Oprah and Ellen was a big deal, no doubt about it," they told heat magazine. "Meghan is totally in her element right now."
As a thank-you for bringing the royal couple into the elite events, Meghan has reportedly been sending off "thank-you letters and gift baskets" as a way to genuinely "cosy up" to her new friends. The insider added: "The cosying up doesn't stop when the cameras are off.
"Meghan's at home carefull writing thank-you letters , sending off gift baskets and holding daily brainstorming sessions to draw up lists of new celebrities and events to tager. For her it's very much now or never - especially with The Tig's relaunch just around the corner. If certain celebs turn invites down Meghan's not going to let it discourage her.
