Meghan Markle knows how to make "a great first impression" after mastering a series of special techniques, according to an etiquette expert.
The Duchess of Sussex has mastered the perfect "posture and facial movements" to win over strangers, with royal protocol expert Myka Meier revealing the science behind Meghan's charm. Myka also reassured people that it's easy for anyone to learn.
The expert explained that Meghan will hold her clutch bag in her left hand in order to make her right hand available for handshakes. Myka said this makes the actress appear to be the "most approachable" person in the room. It also saves Meghan from the awkwardness of having to switch hands when introducing herself to new people.
Myka, who was trained by a former member of the Queen’s household, further suggested: "When you enter a room and after you are introduced to everyone, hold a drink. It makes you appear more social and approachable at a party!"
The etiquette expert also said Meghan makes sure to use people's name and directly mirrors their body language in order to make people around her feel significant. Myka said this reinforces the notion that everyone is respected by the actress.
Speaking to Fabulous, Myka said Meghan will smile with an open grin so she appears more "likeable". When she does this, Meghan allows those she is greeting to feel as important as her.
She added: "We often see on video when Meghan walks into a room to greet others, she follows the formula: Eyes open and mouth open. While doing this when entering a room, it shows likability, openness and receptiveness, and often captures on camera well for stills photographs too."
Suggesting ways in which people can copy Meghan's "stellar posture", Myka encouraged people to keep their shoulders back and chin parallel to the floor. She also said crossing your legs in a certain way "allows you to have good posture" when sitting down.
